האומר לאשה הרי את מקודשת לי מעכשיו לאחר שלשים יום ובא אחר וקדשה בתוך ל' יום מקודשת ואינה מקודשת
אמר רב מקודשת ואינה מקודשת לעולם ולא פקעו קדושי שני אלא בגט
ושמואל אמר מקודשת ואינה מקודשת עד שלשים יום
לאחר שלשים יום פקעי קדושי שני וגמרי קדושי ראשון
וקי"ל כרב:

""From now, and after 30 days," and another person comes and betroths her within the thirty days, she is betrothed and not betrothed":
Rav said: She is betrothed and not betrothed forever -- and the betrothal of the second {=this intervening fellow} does not go away except with a get.
And Shmuel said: She is betrothed and not betrothed until thirty days. After thirty days, the betrothal of the second {=intervening} one goes away and the betrothal of the initial one completes.
And we establish like Rav.

Mishna:

האומר לאשה הרי את מקודשת לי על מנת שאתן ליך מאתים זוז הרי זו מקודשת ויתן
על מנת שאתן ליך מכאן ועד שלשים יום נתן לה בתוך שלשים יום מקודשת ואם לאו אינה מקודשת
על מנת שיש לי מאתים זוז הרי היא מקודשת ויש לו
על מנת שאראך מאתים זוז מקודשת ויראנה
הראה על השולחן אינה מקודשת:

If one says to a woman, "behold you are betrothed to me on condition that I give you 200 zuz," behold he is betrothed, and he gives.
"On condition that I give you from now until 30 days," then if he gave it to her within thirty days, she is betrothed, and if not, she is not betrothed.
"On condition that I have 200 zuz," she is betrothed, assuming he has it.
"On condition that I show you 200 zuz," she is betrothed, and he shows her.
If he shows her on the table {money which is not his} she is not betrothed.
