וב"ה סברי מתוך שהותרה הוצאה לצורך הותרה נמי שלא לצורך
פירוש לצורך לצורך אכילה ושלא לצורך כגון קטן ולולב וס"ת והוא הדין לכלים
אבל אבנים וכיוצא בהן אפי' ב"ה

"Bet Shammai say: We may not take out {from reshut hayachid} a child ...":
Bet Shammai maintain that we do not say that since we permit taking out {from the private domain to the public domain} for {food-oriented} purpose, we also permit not for a {food} purpose.
And Bet Hillel maintain that since we permit taking out for purpose, we also permit not for a purpose.
To explain "for a purpose," for the purpose of food. And "not for a purpose," such as a child, a lulav, and a sefer Torah. And the same is true for vessels. {And all these Bet Hillel permits.}
But stones and the like, even Bet Hillel forbid.
And so is the halacha.

However, Yom Kippur requires even eruvei chatzeirot and shitufei mevuot, just like Shabbat.
For they learnt {in a brayta}: Bet Hillel said to Bet Shammai: Do you not admit to us that one may make an eruv {with food} for an adult on Yom Kippur, even though he is obligated to fast and he is forbidden to eat? So too may we make an eruv for a nazirite with wine and for an Israelite {as opposed to a kohen} with terumah.
We derive from this that according to both Bet Shammai and Bet Hillel, we make an eruv techumin and eruv chatzeirot for an adult on Yom Kippur as on Shabbat.
And so is the halacha.

Mishna:
בש"א אין מוליכין חלה ומתנות לכהן ביו"ט בין שהורמו מאמש בין מהיום וב"ה מתירין:
Bet Shammai say: We may not deliver challah or {priestly meat} gifts to a kohen on Yom Tov, whether they were separated yesterday or today.
And Bet Hillel permit.
Gemara:
תניא א"ר יוסי לא נחלקו ב"ש וב"ה על המתנות שמוליכין על מה נחלקו על התרומה שב"ש אומרי' אין מוליכין ובה"א מוליכין
אמר רב יהודה אמר שמואל הלכה כר' יוסי
They learnt {in a brayta}: Rabbi Yossi said: Bet Shammai and Bet Hillel do not disagree regarding {priestly meat} gifts that one may deliver them. Regarding what do they disagree? Regarding teruma. That Bet Shammai say we may not deliver and Bet Hillel say we may deliver.
Rav Yehuda cited Shmuel: The halacha is like Rabbi Yossi.
רב טובי בר מתנה הוה ליה גרבא דחמרא דתרומה
אתא לקמיה דרב יוסף אמר ליה מהו לאמטויי לכהן האידנא
אמר ליה הכי אמר רב יהודה אמר שמואל הלכה כרבי יוסי
Rav Tovi bar Matna {our gemara: son of Rav Nechemia} had a jug of wine that was teruma. He came before Rav Yosef. He said to him: What about bringing it to a kohen today { -- is it permitted}?
He {Rav Yosef} said to him: So did Rav Yehuda cite Rav: The halacha is like Rabbi Yossi.
{and so Bet Shammai and Bet Hillel were arguing about terumah, and we rule like Bet Hillel. Thus it is permitted.}
אושפזיכניא דרבה בר רב חנן הוה ליה איסורייתא דחרדלא
אתא לקמיה דרבה בר רב חנן
אמר ליה מהו לפרוכי מינייהו האידנא ביו"ט
לא הוה בידיה אתא לקמיה דרבא
א"ל מוללין מלילות ומפרכין קטניות ביום טוב
The host {/landlord} of Rabba bar Rav Chanan had a bundle of mustard {stalks}. He came before Rabba bar Rav Chanan. He said to him: May one crumble them {the stalks to get at the mustard seeds} today on Yom Tov?
He {=Rabba bar Rav Chanan} did not have it {=the answer} in his hand.
He {=presumably Rabba bar Rav Chanan, but perhaps the host} came before Rava. He {Rava} said to him: We may rub ears of grain and crumble legumes on Yom Tov.
איתיביה אביי המולל מלילות מערב שבת למחר מנפח יד על יד ואוכל אבל לא בקנון ולא בתמחוי ולא בנפה ולא בכברה והמולל מלילות מעיו"ט למחר מנפח יד על יד ואוכל ואפי' בקנון ובתמחוי אבל לא בטבלא ולא בנפה ולא בכברה
Abaye objected to him {Rava}: "If one rubbed ears of grain on erev Shabbat {and thus had a mixture of kernels and chaff}, he may toss them from hand to hand the next day {=Shabbat} and eat them, but may not {separate the grain from the chaff} with a funnel, a plate, a fine sieve or a coarse sieve. And if one rubbed ears of grain on erev Yom Tov, the next day he may toss them from hand to hand and eat, and even with a funnel or a plate, but not with a board, a fine sieve, or a coarse sieve." {This implies:} On erev Yom Tov, yes {one may rub ears of grain}; On Yom Tov, no.
And we answer that even on Yom Tov, it is permitted, but since the beginning {of the brayta} taught "from erev Shabbat," the end {of the brayta used the same language and} taught "from erev Yom Tov."
And so is the halacha.
