הכותב טופסי גיטין צריך שיניח מקום האיש ומקום האשה ומקום הזמן
שטרי מלוה צריך שיניח מקום המלוה ומקום הלוה ומקום המעות ומקום הזמן
שטרי מקח צריך שיניח מקום הלוקח ומקום המוכר ומקום המעות ומקום השדה ומקום הזמן מפני התקנה
רבי יהודה פוסל בכולן
רבי אלעזר מכשיר בכולן חוץ מגיטי נשים שנא' וכתב לה לשמה

IF [A SCRIBE] WRITES OUT FORMULAS {=the tofes} OF BILLS OF DIVORCE, HE MUST LEAVE BLANK SPACES FOR THE NAME OF THE MAN AND THE NAME OF THE WOMAN AND THE DATE.
[IF HE WRITES FORMULAS OF] BONDS OF INDEBTEDNESS HE MUST LEAVE BLANK SPACES FOR THE NAME OF THE LENDER, THE NAME OF THE BORROWER, THE AMOUNT LENT AND THE DATE.
[IF HE WRITES] FORMS OF CONTRACTS OF SALE HE MUST LEAVE BLANK SPACES FOR THE NAME OF THE VENDOR, THE NAME OF THE PURCHASER, THE PURCHASE MONEY, THE PROPERTY AND THE DATE, BECAUSE OF THE ENACTMENT.
RABBI YEHUDAH DECLARES ALL SUCH [FORMULAS] INVALID [EVEN IF THE BLANKS HAVE BEEN LEFT].
RABBI ELEAZAR DECLARES ALL OF THEM VALID [IF THE BLANKS HAVE BEEN LEFT] EXCEPT WRITS OF DIVORCE, BECAUSE SCRIPTURE SAYS, HE SHALL WRITE FOR HER, WHICH MEANS, EXPRESSLY FOR HER.

Rabbi Zera cited Rabba bar Shela who cited Rav Hamnuna the Elder who cited Rav Ada bar Ahava who cited Rav: The halacha is like Rabbi Eleazar.
Rav called Rabbi Eleazar "the happiest of the wise men."

מצאו באשפה חתמו ונתנו לה כשר

Rav Pappa {our gemara has it as Rav Pappi citing Rava}: If the authentication of bet din {certifying that signatures are valid} is written before the witnesses testified that those are their signatures, is it invalid?
And it is not so, from Rav Nachman. For Rav Nachman said: Rabbi Meir would say: even if they found it {=the get} on the rubbish heap, and signed it and gave it to her, it is valid.
