What does he bless {in the blessing of bridegrooms}?
Rav Yehuda said:
{Ketubot 8a}
  1. That He created all for His Glory.
  2. Blessed is the Creator of man.
  3. Blessed who created man in His Image, in the image of the likeness of his form, and prepared from him {=from man} a perpetual building {=woman}. Blessed are you, Hashem, who created man.
  4. May the barren woman greatly rejoice and exult in the gathering of her children within her midst in joy. Blessed who causes Zion to rejoice in her children.
  5. May you cause the loving companions {man and his wife} to rejoice, as you caused your creations to rejoice in Gan Eden. Blessed who causes the groom and bride to rejoice.
  6. Blessed are You, Hashem, who creates joy and gladness, the groom and bride, rejoicing, singing, mirth and delight, love and brotherhood, peace and friendship. Speedily, Hashem our God, may it be heard in the cities of Judea and in the streets of Jerusalem the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride, the sound of shouts of joy of grooms from their wedding canopies, and of youths from their feasts of song. Blessed are you, Hashem, who causes the groom to rejoice with the bride.

ומאי שנא הא דמתחיל בה בברוך
משום דאע"ג דליכא פנים חדשות מברך אשר ברא כל שבעה הלכך ברכה בפני עצמה היא
And why is this one different in that he begins it with "Blessed?"
Since even if there are no new faces, he blesses "Asher Bara" {the 6th blessing} all seven {days}. Therefore, it is its own blessing.

Rav Ashi visited the house of Rav Kahana. The first day, he blessed all of them. From then on, if there were new faces, he blessed all of them, and if not, (no) it is merely a continuation of joy and so he blessed "that the happiness is in his dwelling," and "Asher Bara." From the seventh until the thirtieth, whether he {=the host} said to them {=the guests} 'because of the wedding' or whether he did not say 'because of the wedding,' he blesses "that this happiness is in his dwelling." From then on, if he says to them 'because of the wedding,' he blesses "that this happiness is in his dwelling," and if not, no.
And when he says 'because of the wedding,' until when?
And at first {from before the wedding}, until when? From when they put barley into the mortar. {Thus, from when they begin preparing for the wedding.}
Rav Pappi cited Rava: Until twelve months, thus a year.
