ר' יהודה אומר אין מעלין לכהונה ע"פ עד אחד

רשב"ג אומר משום ר"ש בן הסגן מעלין לכהונה ע"פ עד אחד

Rabbi Yehuda says: We do not ascend to the priesthood via the word of a single witness.
Rabbi Eleazar said: When? Where there are protesters. But where there are no protesters, we ascend to the priesthood via the word of a single witness.
R' Shimon ben Gamliel says in the name of Rabbi Shimon son of the Segan {of the priests}: We ascend to the priesthood on the word of a single witness.

אמר רב אשי במצטרפין לעדות קא מיפלגי ובפלוגתא דהני תנאי
דתניא אין עדותן מצטרפת עד שיראו שניהן כאחד רבי יהושע בן קרחה אומר אפילו בזה אחר זה ואין עדותן מתקיימת בב"ד עד שיעידו שניהן כאחד ר' נתן אומר שומעין דבריו של זה היום וכשיבא חברו למחר שומעין את דבריו
והלכתא כר' יהושע ב"ק והלכתא כר' נתן

R' Shimon ben Gamliel, that is the same as the first Tanna!
Rav Ashi said: They argue as to whether they can be combined into a single testimony, and as the dispute of these Tannaim. For they learnt {in a brayta}: Their testimony does not combine until both of them see as one. Rabbi Yehoshua ben Korcha says: Even one after the other. And their testimony does not sustain in bet din until both of them testify as one. Rabbi Natan says: We may hear the words of this one today and when his friend comes on the morrow, we will hear his words.
And the halacha is like Rabbi Yehoshua ben Korcha.
And the halacha is like Rabbi Natan.

Mishna:

האשה שנחבשה בידי עובדי כוכבים על ידי ממון מותרת לבעלה ע"י נפשות אסורה לבעלה:

A woman who was imprisoned in the hands of gentiles for monetary matters is permitted to her husband; on capital matters {that they will take her life}, she is forbidden to her husband.

עיר שכבשה כרקום כל כהנות שבתוכה פסולות לבעליהן ואם יש להן עדים אפי' עבד אפי' שפחה הרי אלו נאמנין ואין אדם נאמן ע"י עצמו

If a besieging army conquered a city, all the kohanot {women married to kohanim} who are in it are forbidden to their husbands. And if they had witnesses, even {if the witness be} a slave or a maidservant, they are believed. And a person is not believed about himself.

אמר ר' זכריה בן הקצב המעון הזה לא זזה ידה מתוך ידי משעה שנכנסו עובדי כוכבים לירושלים עד שיצאו אמרו לו אין אדם נאמן על ידי עצמו:

Rabbi Zecharia son of the butcher said: {By} This place {=the the Temple, he swore}, her hand {=of his wife} did not move from my hand from the time that gentiles entered Jerusalem until they left.
They said to him: A person is not believed regarding himself.
