Rif Gittin 7a {15a - 16b}

7a

BEGIN PEREK TWO
{Gittin 15a}
Mishna:

IF THE BEARER OF A GET FROM 'FOREIGN PARTS' DECLARES: 'IT WAS WRITTEN IN MY PRESENCE BUT NOT SIGNED IN MY PRESENCE', [OR] 'IT WAS SIGNED IN MY PRESENCE BUT NOT WRITTEN IN MY PRESENCE', [OR] 'THE WHOLE OF IT WAS WRITTEN IN MY PRESENCE BUT ONLY ONE OF THE WITNESSES SIGNED IN MY PRESENCE', [OR] 'ONLY HALF WAS WRITTEN IN MY PRESENCE THOUGH ALL OF IT WAS {=BOTH WITNESSES} SIGNED IN MY PRESENCE' — IT IS INVALID.

IF ONE [PERSON] DECLARES 'IT WAS WRITTEN IN MY PRESENCE AND ANOTHER SAYS, 'IT WAS SIGNED IN MY PRESENCE, IT IS INVALID.

IF TWO [PERSONS] DECLARE, 'IT WAS WRITTEN IN OUR PRESENCE AND ANOTHER SAYS, 'IT WAS SIGNED IN MY PRESENCE', IT IS INVALID:
RABBI YEHUDAH, HOWEVER, DECLARES IT VALID.

IF ONE DECLARES, 'IT WAS WRITTEN IN MY PRESENCE' AND TWO SAY, 'IT WAS SIGNED IN OUR PRESENCE', IT IS VALID.

Gemara:
"ONLY HALF WAS WRITTEN IN MY PRESENCE THOUGH ALL OF IT WAS {=BOTH WITNESSES} SIGNED IN MY PRESENCE' — IT IS INVALID":
This "half" -- if we say it was the first half -- but Rabbi Eleazar said: Even if only a single line was written with special intent {lishmah} no more is needed. Rather, Rav Ashi said: With the latter half.

{Gittin 15b}
"'THE WHOLE OF IT WAS WRITTEN IN MY PRESENCE BUT ONLY HALF OF IT {=ONE WITNESS} WAS SIGNED IN MY PRESENCE,' IT IS INVALID":
Rav Ashi said: And even if he said "I am the second witness" it is invalid.
What is the reason? Either for all of it {=both signatures} we need to confirm the get or for all of it in accordance with the institution of the Sages.
But if two testified about the signature [sic] of the second hand, it is valid.
Alternatively, if he and another testified on the signature of the second hand, it is valid, for we would not say that if one says it, it is valid but if two say it it is invalid {Rashi: since even without saying that it was written and signed before him, he is believed to recognize the signatures}, nor would we say that if he said the entire matter it would be valid while if there is another beside him, it is invalid.

{Gittin 16a}
"IF ONE [PERSON] DECLARES 'IT WAS WRITTEN IN MY PRESENCE AND ANOTHER SAYS, 'IT WAS SIGNED IN MY PRESENCE, IT IS INVALID":
Rav Shmuel bar Yehuda cited Rabbi Yochanan: They only learned this where the get did not go out from under both their hands {such that both were not agents} but if the get went out from under both of their hands, {Gittin 16b} it is valid.

Rif Gittin 6b {14a - b}

{Gittin 14a}

It was stated {by Amoraim}: "Convey a maneh to Ploni which I owe him"
Rav said: He is {still} responsible for it, yet if he comes to retract, he may not retract.
And Shmuel said: Since he is {still} responsible for it, if he comes to retract, he may retract.

There is a brayta in accordance with Rav: "Convey a maneh to Ploni which I owe him"; "give a maneh to Ploni which I owe him"; "convey a maneh to Ploni which is a deposit of his I have in my hand"; "give a maneh to Ploni which is a deposit of his I have in my hand": he is {still} responsible for it, yet if he comes to retract, he may not retract.

In terms a deposit, let him say to him "my wish is not that my deposit should be in the hands of another?"
Rabbi Zera said: Where he is an established denier {of his obligations}. But if he is not an established denier and he comes to retract, he may retract.
And when we said that "convey" is like acquisition, these words are by a lender, or alternatively, by a deposit where the one by whom it is is an established {false} denier. But by a gift, "convey" is not like acquisition, for we establish that the agent of a gift is like the agent of a get: Just as by the agent of a get, "convey" is not like acquisition, so too by the agent of a gift, "convey" is not like acquisition and if he wants to retract he may retract.

{Gittin 14b}

"Convey a maneh to Ploni," and he went, sought him out, and did not find him, he returns it to the sender.
If the sender died, if he was healthy, we see if the recipient died in the lifetime of the sender, in which case we would return it to the heirs of the sender. For we establish that "convey" by a healthy person is not like acquisition.
And if the sender died in the lifetime of the recipient, we return it to the heirs of the one to whom it was sent. For we establish that it is a precept to fulfill the words of the deceased.
And if he {=the sender} was deathly ill, we see if the recipient existed {was alive} at the time of the giving over of the money {to the agent}, in which case we would give it to the heirs of the one to whom it was sent, for we establish that the words of a deathly ill person are like they are written and given over. And if the recipient did not exist at the time of the giving over of the money, we return it to the heirs of the sender, for we establish that there is no acquisition to a dead person.
And so is the halacha.

Mar Zutra said: These three things the Sages taught as halacha without {giving the} reason. One is as we have said. And the other is that which Rav Yehuda cited Rav: One who writes over all his assets to his wife is only making her a trustee for it. And the other is that which Rabbi Chanina said: One who marries a woman off to his adult son in a {special} house, he {=the son} acquires it {the house}.

Rav said to Rav Acha Bardela: "You have a kav of saffron of mine by you. Give it to Ploni, and I am telling you in his presence that I will not retract from this."
May we derive from this that if he wanted to retract, he could have retracted?
This is what it means to say: These words are not given over to retraction.

There were certain market gardeners {in partership} made an accounting with each other. They discovered that there were five isterei {each one is a half-a-zuz} by one of them. They said to him: "Give it to the owner of the land for the land tax {our gemara lacks "for the land-tax"}" in the presence of the landowner {our gemara lacks this particular detail as well} and they acquired from him.
In the end, he {that one gardener} made an accounting by himself and discovered that there was actually nothing extra by him. He came before Rav Nachman.
He {=Rav Nachman} said to him: What am I to do for you? First of all, Rav Huna cited Rav that "I have a maneh in your possession -- give it to Ploni" in the presence of all three of them, he acquires. And furthermore, behold they acquired it {with an act of acquisition} from you!
Rava said to him: Even so, does this man say "I will not give it?" He is saying "there was not by me {such that I did not owe it}!"
He {=Rav Nachman} said to him: If so, it is an acquisition in error, and all acquisitions in error, he returns {chozer, perhaps "retract"}.

This matter, the {post-Talmudic} Rabbis have explained it that we do not conduct affairs thusly except if there were witnesses before whom they did [the accounting and that this was the] accounting and it was found to be in error. Alternatively, where [his colleagues] admit to him that such is the accounting, and with such was the matter conducted. But where there are no witnesses who testify that such was the accounting, but rather he is the one who claims so, and his colleagues do not admit to him, this claim does not help at all.
And this statement {/explanation} is one which is logical. For if you do not say so, all deeds in general, one may also say that it was in error and be acquitted of it. Rather, do we not derive that this statement which the {post-Talmudic} Rabbis said is a valid and straightforward one.

are like they are written and given over. It does not matter if he said "give him this maneh" or if he says "give him {emend li to lo} a maneh" plainly, he acquires over, and we do not worry that he was thinking of a {particular} buried maneh.

And we explicitly rule that the halacha is that we do not worry about a particular buried maneh.

{Gittin 13b}

Rav Huna said: {If he said} "There is a maneh of mine in your hands -- give it to Ploni" in the assembly of the three of them, he acquires it. There is no distinction if it is a loan or if it is a deposit. In all cases he acquires.

Rif Gittin 5a {Gittin 11b; Yevamot 118b; Gittin 12a - 13a}

5a

{Gittin 11b}

And if you say: what about our Mishna {which seems to suggest that he does acquire}?
{The answer is:} Whoever says "give" is as if he said "acquire on behalf of."
We derive from this that if one seizes for a creditor in a situation when it is not a loss for others, he acquires.

"THE SAGES, HOWEVER, SAY THAT HE MAY COUNTERMAND IN THE CASE OF THE GET BUT NOT IN THAT OF THE WRIT OF EMANCIPATION, ON THE PRINCIPLE THAT A BENEFIT MAY BE CONFERRED ON A MAN IN HIS ABSENCE...":
And these words are in terms of retraction, such that his master is not able to retract from it. But still, the slave does not go out to freedom until the get reaches his hand. For they learnt {in a Mishna}: If one says "give this get to my wife and this bill of manumission to my slave" and he dies, they do not give it after death, for there is no get after death. And you can derive from this that it is in terms of retraction that we acquire on behalf of the slave, but going out to freedom, he does not go out, until the get reaches his hand.
And we find this type of acquiring benefit as we say later on {in Gittin 14a}: "Take this maneh to Ploni, which I owe him" -- Rav said: He {the sender} is {still} responsible for it, and {yet} if he wishes to retract {the sending of the maneh} he may not retract.

We learn in perek haIsha shehalcha hi uvaalah limdinat hayam, shalom beino leveinah {Yevamot 118b, also here in Rif}:
Rava asked of Rav Nachman: If one gave over a get {to an agent on behalf of his wife, but he appointed this agent rather than she} in case of a levir {such that it is to her benefit, so that she need not undergo yibbum or chalitza}, what {is the law}?
Since she hates him {the levir}, it is a benefit to her, and we accrue benefit on behalf of a person even when not before them? Or perhaps since there are times that she loves her levir, it is a disadvantage, and we do not impose disadvantages on behalf when not in front of them?
He said to him: We have learned it: "And we worry for her words and so she performs chalitza but not yibbum" {thus, in some cases she hates him and in some she loves him, so it is a chov}
Ravina said to Rava: If one gave over a get {to an agent on behalf of his wife, but he appointed this agent rather than she} in case of discord {between them}, what {is the law}? Since there is discord with him, it is a benefit to her? Or perhaps, an easier physical state {for she is being supported, or is gratifying bodily desires} is better for her?
Come and hear {a proof}: For Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish said: It is better to live as two {alternatively, in grief} than to live in widowhood.
{Gittin 12a}

"FOR IF HE CHOOSES NOT TO MAINTAIN HIS SLAVE HE IS PERMITTED":
{A supposition:} We derive from this that the master is permitted to say to the slave "work for me yet I will not support you."
{Gittin 12b}
And the conclusion: Come and hear: He who cuts off the hand of his friend's slave gives the loss of time {in which the slave cannot work} and the cost of his medical attendance to the master, and the slave is supported from charity.
We derive from this that he is able to say to a slave "work for me and {yet} I will not support you." We so derive.

The cost of his medical attendance goes to his master? Surely it should go to him, for he needs to be cured with it?
No, it is necessary, for where they estimate that he will take five days and by applying a painful remedy he was cured in three days. I would have thought that the pain is his {such that since he underwent the pain, he gets to keep the extra money that would have been spent on a doctor for those extra two days}. Therefore it informs us that the surplus belongs to the master.

HE {=RABBI MEIR} SAID TO THEM: DOES HE NOT DISQUALIFY HIS SLAVE FROM EATING THE PRIESTLY HEAVE-OFFERING [BY EMANCIPATING HIM] IN THE SAME WAY AS HE DISQUALIFIES HIS WIFE [BY DIVORCING HER]?

Gemara
:

The Mishna lays down a comprehensive rule, such that there should be no difference between a sale and a gift. A sale is well and good, for when he gives money before them, it is acquired, and the deed is merely for proof. And if he had not given money before them, they {=the heathen court} would not do injury to themselves {their reputations} and write a deed for him.

But a gift, via what does he acquire it? With that deed? That deed is merely a shard of clay!

Shmuel said: The law of the land is law.
{The gemara offers another suggestion:} And if I want, I will say: Teach {instead in the Mishna} except for that which is like writs of divorce.

(To explain: Anything which they do not acquire according to our law, but they acquire it according to their law, we do not accept them, nor do we collect with them, even though it came up in their {heathen} courts.)

Gemara:
{"IF ITS VALIDITY IS CHALLENGED, IT MUST BE ESTABLISHED THROUGH THE SIGNATURES."}
Challenged by how many? If you say, challenged by one, well then, Rabbi Yochanan said that there is no challenge from less than two. But if you say that two challenge it, then when we establish it through its signatures, it would be two against two. Why should we see fit to rely upon these? We should rely on these?
Rather, it is the challenge of the husband.

"AND HE IS NOT ABLE TO DECLARE":
What is meant by "and he is not able to declare?" If we say that he is a deaf-mute {and thus is physically unable}, but they learnt {in a Mishna} "all are valid to bring the get except for a deaf-mute, an imbecile, and a minor."
Rav Yosef said: What are we dealing with here? Such as where he gave it to her when he was normal, and yet before he had opportunity to say "before me it was written and before me it was signed," he became a deaf-mute.

"NO DOCUMENT ATTESTED BY THE SIGNATURE OF A CUTHEAN IS VALID, UNLESS IT IS A WRIT OF DIVORCE OR A WRIT OF EMANCIPATION":
And nowadays, every Cuthean witness is invalid, whether by writs of divorce or by other documents.

For we learnt by the slaughter of Chullin, perek 1: They did not move from there until they made their {=the Cutheans'} status into one of full idolaters, whether for ritual slaughter or for wine of libations.
And even to grant rights of access or to nullify rights of access, as they learnt {in a brayta}:: For they said: An Israelite can grant rights of access or nullify rights of access, but an idolator, until he rents it out.
And all the more so for testimony, that his status should be like idolaters.

Rif Gittin 2b {Gittin 8b - 9a; 2a}

2b

{Gittin 8b}

If, however, he leaves off even a tiny piece of land {from the transfer of his assets to his slave}, he does not go out free.
Rabbi Shimon says: {Gittin 9a} He {the slave} will always be a free man except in the case where he {the owner} says {in the document} "all my assets are given to Ploni my servant except for 1 ten thousandth of them.

{Rif explains:} For the Tanna Kamma holds that since he left off "a tiny bit of land" without specifying what is was, the servant is not able to make a determination of that "tiny bit" so as to acquire the rest of the property. Therefore, he does not acquire the assets at all. And since he does not acquire the assets at all, he himself as well is not acquired, for we do not divide the statement.
And Rabbi Shimon holds that even those he is unable to make a determination to that portion, and so does not acquire the assets, still he acquires himself {who is not land} and we thus divide the statement.

{Thus, this statement of Rava was in accordance with Rabbi Shimon, it seems.}
But Rav Yosef bar Minyumi cited Rav Nachman: Even though Rabbi Yossi praised Rabbi Shimon, for they learnt {in a brayta}:
When these words were said before Rabbi Yossi, he applied to him {=Rabbi Shimon} this verse {Mishlei 24:26}:
26 He kisseth the lips that giveth a right answer.
The halacha is like Rabbi Meir {=the Tanna Kamma}.

He {=presumably Rava} said to him {our gemara has Rav Ashi saying this, and there appears to be some elaboration here}: Our brayta speaks of a case where the connection is not entirely severed, for since he left for himself a tiny bit of land, and he wrote so in the get {document}, his master still has some rights {zechut} within the get, and such as this is not a get of severance. For we require that a get of manumission be entirely to the servant, and there is not that here. And because of this, the halacha is not like Rabbi Shimon, who said that it is always the case that he goes out free. However, we still do say that we divide a statement. {Proof of this follows:}

For behold, Rav Yosef bar Minyumi cited Rav Nachman: A deathly ill man who wrote all his assets to his slave, and he recovered, he may retract as regards the assets, but he may not retract as regards the slave.

He may retract as regards the assets, because they are the gift of one on a deathbed.
And he may not retract as regards the slave, for behold there went out about him {the slave} the name "free man."

Thus, it is clear that we divide his words, and the section goes out with this, and so is the halacha.

{Gittin 2a}

Rif Gittin 2a {Gittin 5b-8b}

2a

{Gittin 5b}

In front of how many does the agent give it to her?
Rabbi Yochanan said: Before two.
Rabbi Chanina said: Before three.

{In truth} all agree that we need three to establish it, and the dispute here is as follows: Rabbi Yochanan maintains that an agent can become a witness, and a witness can become a judge. And Rabbi Chanina maintains that even though in matters pertaining to rabbinic law, a witness can become a judge, here we worry lest she bring this get and we rely upon her. And Rabbi Yochanan maintains that we do not worry about this, for it is well known that we do not rely upon her.

And the halacha is like Rabbi Yochanan, for there is a brayta in accordance with him. {Namely:}

If one brings a get from an overseas country, and gave it to her without saying "before me it was written and before me it was signed," he {=the second husband} must divorce and the child is a bastard. These are the words of Rabbi Meir.
And the Sages say: The child is not a bastard. How should he conduct himself? He {=the agent} should take it from her and once again give it to her, before two witnesses, and say "before me it was written and before me it was signed."

{Gittin 6a}

Rabbi Chanin related: Rav Kahana brought a get, and I am not sure if it was from Sura to Nehardea or from Nehardea to Sura. He came before Rav. He said to him {=Rav}: Do I need to say "before me it was written and before me it was signed?" He {=Rav} said to him: You do not need to, {Gittin 6b} but if you did it, it is all the better, for if the ex-husband comes and complains, we would not pay heed to him.

{Gittin 8b}
The Sages learnt {in a brayta}: If a slave brings his get {deed of manumission} and written upon it is "you and my assets are transferred {acquired} over to you," he himself is acquired {such that he is free} but the assets are not acquired.

He himself is acquired, just as is so by a woman's get. For they learnt {in a Mishna}: The woman herself may bring her get.
The assets are not acquired, for he needs to establish it like all deeds in general.

It was a question to them {Amoraim}:
{If the document states} "All my assets are transferred to you," {and the servant is, after all, an asset} what is the law?
{Rif elaborates}: The case is such that there is not written on it "yourself and my assets are transferred to you," but rather what is written is "may assets are transferred to you." What is the law?

Abaye said: Since he did not acquire the assets, he did not acquire himself, and we do not divide the {single} statement.
And Rava said: Both this and that {the case of the brayta and this case}, he acquires himself but he does not acquire the assets, and we divide the statement.

Rav Ada bar Matna said to Rava: In accordance with whom? Like Rabbi Shimon who said that we divide the statement. For they learnt {in a Mishna}: If one wrote his assets to his servant, he {=the servant}, he goes out free.

{Gittin 2b}

Rava said: It is because it is not easy to find witnesses who can confirm the signatures.

The reason {for Rava} is that witnesses cannot be easily found to confirm it. But if there were witnesses easily found to confirm it, he does not need to say "Before me it was written and before me it was signed," for all are experts in the law that it must be written with them in mind.

And Rabba, who said that it is because they are not experts in the law that it must be written with them in mind, he also holds like Rava who said that we need to establish it.

{Gittin 3a}
And rightfully, we should have required two {bearers}, according to {the reasoning of} both of them. But because of concerns of chaining women, the Sages were lenient.

{Rif concludes:} And our sugya is like Rava. That where there are witnesses who can establish it, he does not need to say "before me it was written and before me it was signed." But where there are no witnesses to establish it, he needs to say "before me it was written and before me it was signed."

RABBAN GAMLIEL SAYS: [THIS DECLARATION IS] ALSO [REQUIRED] IF HE BRINGS IT FROM REKEM OR FROM CHEGAR.

RABBI ELEAZAR SAYS: EVEN IF HE BRINGS IT FROM KEFAR LUDIM TO LUD.

THE SAGES, HOWEVER, SAY THAT THE DECLARATION 'IN MY PRESENCE IT WAS WRITTEN AND IN MY PRESENCE IT WAS SIGNED' IS REQUIRED ONLY FROM ONE WHO BRINGS A BILL OF DIVORCE [FROM FOREIGN PARTS TO THE LAND OF ISRAEL] OR WHO TAKES IT [FROM THE LAND OF ISRAEL TO FOREIGN PARTS]. THE BEARER [OF SUCH A DOCUMENT] FROM ONE PROVINCE TO ANOTHER IN FOREIGN PARTS IS ALSO REQUIRED TO DECLARE, IN MY PRESENCE IT WAS WRITTEN AND IN MY PRESENCE IT WAS SIGNED.'
RABBAN SHIMON BEN GAMLIEL SAYS IT IS REQUIRED EVEN IF HE TAKES IT FROM ONE GOVERNORSHIP TO ANOTHER.

Gemara:

What is the reason?
Rabba said: {Gittin 2b} It is because [the Jews in foreign parts] are [for the most part] ignorant of the rule of 'special intention'.

Rava said: The wife is permitted, for if it were so that he was doing a prohibition, it would have been better for the adulterrer that the husband eat and die. For it is written {Yechezkel 23:37}

37 For they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery; and their sons, whom they bore unto Me, they have also set apart unto them to be devoured.
This is obvious! {No.} I would have thought that there was indeed a violation, and this that the adulterer did not leave him to eat was because it is better for the adulterer that the husband not die, such that his wife be cheating with him {this word מזנה is missing from our text of gemara, but is in Rif}, because it is written {Proverbs 9:17}
17 'Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.'

Gemara:

Rav Pappa said: Rava tested us as follows: If the wife of a kohen was raped, does she receive her ketuba or does she not receive? Since rape as regards a kohen is like voluntary by an Israelite {in terms of becoming forbidden to her}, would we say that so too, she would not receive a ketuba? Or perhaps she can find to say, "I personally am fit {because I committed no sin},
{Nedarim 91a}
but it is only the man {that is, his status as kohen} who is not fit, and his field has been inundated?"
And I said to him {to Rava}: It is our Mishna: "I am defiled to you," she receives a ketuba.
{And now Rav Pappa analyzes it:}

With what are we dealing? If you say by the wife of an Israelite, then how so? If willingly, then she certainly receives no ketuba. And if unwillingly, would she be forbidden upon her husband? Rather, by the wife of a kohen. And if willingly, she would certainly receive no ketuba, for is she less than the same situation for the wife of an Israelite? Rather, unwillingly, and yet it teaches that she has a ketuba.

It was a question to them: If she says to her husband "you divorced me," what {is the law}?
Rav Hamnuna said: Come and hear: "One {woman} who says 'I am defiled to you,' and even according to the subsequent ruling, which teaches that she is not believed, there is where she is lying, for she knows that her husband does not know, but by "you divorced me," which he would know, she is believed, for there is a presumption that a woman will not act so brazenly before her husband.
Rava said to him: Just the opposite. Even according to the initial ruling in the Mishna, which taught that she was believed, this was because she would not expose herself to shame, but here, there are times that she is stronger-willed than her husband {so Ran; alternatively, according to Rashi: her husband did not treat her well}, she will indeed be so brazen.

There was a certain person who vowed not to benefit from the world if he should marry before having studied halachah. He ran with ladder and cord {strove mightily}, yet did not succeed in his studies.
Rav Acha bar Rav Huna came and led him into error {making him think the vow would not be valid if he married}, and caused him to marry.
{Nedarim 90a}
Then he daubed him with clay and brought him before Rav Chisda.
Rava said: Who is so wise as to do such a thing if not Rav Acha bar Rav Huna, who is a great man.
For he holds that just as the Sages and Rabbi Natan disagree in terms of annulment, so do they argue in regard to absolution.

And Rav Pappi said: The dispute was by annulment, for Rabbi Natan held that the husband cannot annul unless the vow took hold, for it is written {Yeshaya 24:23}
{פ} 23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for the LORD of hosts will reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before His elders shall be Glory.
And the Sages hold that the husband can annul even though it has not taken hold. For it is written {Iyyov 5:12}
12 He frustrateth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands can perform nothing substantial.
But by absolution, all agree that a Sage cannot annul until it has taken hold. For it is written {Bemidbar 30:3}:
3 When a man voweth a vow unto the LORD, or sweareth an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

:
AT FIRST IT WAS RULED THAT THREE WOMEN MUST BE DIVORCED AND RECEIVE THEIR KETUBA: SHE WHO DECLARES: I AM DEFILED TO YOU'; OR 'HEAVEN IS BETWEEN YOU AND ME'; AND 'MAY I BE REMOVED FROM JEWS.'
BUT SUBSEQUENTLY, TO PREVENT HER FROM CONCEIVING A PASSION FOR ANOTHER TO THE INJURY OF HER HUSBAND, THE RULING WAS AMENDED THUS: SHE WHO DECLARED, 'I AM DEFILED UNTO YOU,' MUST BRING PROOF: 'HEAVEN IS BETWEEN ME AND YOU' — THEY SHOULD ENGAGE IN REQUEST, AND 'MAY I BE REMOVED FROM JEWS' — HE [THE HUSBAND] MUST ANNUL HIS PORTION, AND SHE SHALL MINISTER TO HIM, WHILST REMAINING REMOVED FROM JEWS.
