שומטת דד מפיו ובית הלל אומרים כופה ומניקתו נתגרשה אינו כופה ואם היה מכירה נותן לה שכרה ומניקתו מפני הסכנה

At what age does he recognize her?
Rabbi Yirmeya said: 3 months.
And Rabbi Yitzchak cited Rabbi Yochanan: 50 days old.
And Rabbi Shimi bar Ashi said: The halacha is like Rabbi Yitzchak who cited Rabbi Yochanan.

A blind one, how does it know? Rav Ashi said: By the smell and the taste.

There was one {divorced woman refusing to nurse her infant} who came before Shmuel. Rav Dimi bar Yosef was sitting before him. Shmuel said to Rav Dimi bar Yosef: Go investigate her {whether the child knew the mother}. He sat her in a row of woman and took her son and carried him in front of them. When he reached her, he gazed longingly at her, but she turned away from him. He said to her "lift you your eyes, come and take your son."

The Sages learnt {in as brayta}: We continue to nurse an infant until 24 months. From then on, it is like nursing an abominable thing. These are the words of Rabbi Eliezer. Rabbi Yehoshua says: Even 4 or 5 years. If it stopped suckling after 24 months and returned, it is like nursing an abominable thing.
Rav Yosef said: The halacha is like Rabbi Yehoshua.

וכמה פרישתו
א"ר יהודה בן חביבא שלשה ימים

And how much is a stoppage {in nursing}?
R' Yehuda ben Chaviva said: Three days.

במה דברים אמורים שפירש מתוך בוריו אבל פירש מתוך חליו מחזירין אותו

Yerushalmi:
Where are these words said? Where he stopped while entirely healthy, but if he stopped because of ailment, we return him.

תניא דם שעל הככר גוררו ואוכלו ושבין השינים מוצצו ובולעו ואינו חושש

They learned {in a brayta}: {Human} blood found on a loaf of bread, he scrapes it off and then eats it {the bread}, and between the teeth, he sucks and swallows it without concern.
