{Megillah 17a}
Mishna:

הקורא את המגילה למפרע לא יצא קראה על פה קראה תרגום בכל לשון לא יצא אבל קורין אותה ללועזות בלעז והלועז ששמע אשורית יצא:

If one reads the megillah out of order, he does not fulfill. If he reads it by heart, if he reads it in Targum {translation} in any language he does not fulfill.
But they read it for foreign speakers in the foreign tongue;
and a foreign speaker who hears it in Hebrew of course fulfills.

Gemara:

הקורא את המגילה למפרע לא יצא
תאנא וכן בהלל וכן בקרית שמע וכן בתפלה

"If one reads the megillah out of order, he does not fulfill":
A tanna taught: and so too by Hallel, and so too for the reading of Shema, and so too for prayer {Shemoneh Esrei}.

תפלה מנ"ל דתניא שמעון הפקולי הסדיר י"ח ברכות לפני רבן גמליאל על הסדר ביבנה
א"ר יצחק ואיתימא רבי חייא בר אבא ואמרי לה במתניתא תנא מאה ועשרים זקנים ומהם כמה נביאים תקנו י"ח ברכות על הסדר.

Prayer {=Shemoneh Esrei}, from where do we know?
For they learnt {in a brayta}: Shimon haPakoli ordered the 18 blessings before Rabban Gamliel in their order in Yavneh.
Rabbi Yitzchak, and some say Rabbi Chiyya bar Abba, and some say in a brayta it was taught: 120 elders, and among them many prophets, established the 18 blessings in their order.

מגילה מנ"ל דכתיב והימים האלה נזכרים ונעשים
מה עשייה למפרע לא אף זכירה למפרע לא.

How do we know megillah {must be read in order}? For it is written {Esther 9:28}:

כח וְהַיָּמִים הָאֵלֶּה נִזְכָּרִים וְנַעֲשִׂים בְּכָל-דּוֹר וָדוֹר, מִשְׁפָּחָה וּמִשְׁפָּחָה, מְדִינָה וּמְדִינָה, וְעִיר וָעִיר; וִימֵי הַפּוּרִים הָאֵלֶּה, לֹא יַעַבְרוּ מִתּוֹךְ הַיְּהוּדִים, וְזִכְרָם, לֹא-יָסוּף מִזַּרְעָם. {ס}

28 and that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed.

Just as the keeping is not out of order, so too the remembering {by reading the megillah} is not out of order.

הלל מנ"ל אמר רבא דאמר קרא ממזרח שמש עד מבואו מהולל שם ה' כשם שא"א לזרוח השמש למפרע מן המערב למזרח כך אין קורין הלל למפרע.

Hallel, how do we know?
Rava said: Because the verse stated {Tehillim 113:3}:

ג מִמִּזְרַח-שֶׁמֶשׁ עַד-מְבוֹאוֹ-- מְהֻלָּל, שֵׁם ה.

3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof the LORD'S name is to be praised.

Just as it is impossible for the sun to rise out of order from the west to the east, so do they not read Hallel out of order.

קרית שמע מנ"ל דכתיב והיו שלא יקרא למפרע:

Reading of the Shema, from where do we {know}?
For it is written {Devarim 6:6}:

ו וְהָיוּ הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה, אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיּוֹם--עַל-לְבָבֶךָ.

6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart;

that you should not read them out of order.

אבל קורין אותה ללועזות בלעז.
והוא שכתובה בלעז
ותניא גפטית לגפטים ועברית לעבריים יונית ליונים

"But they may read them to foreign speakers in foreign tongues":

{Megillah 18a}
and this is where it was written in that foreign tongue {in the megillah}.

And they learnt {in a brayta}:
Giftish to Giftim, Hebrew to Hebrews, Greek to Greeks.
