פשיטא מכר לוקח זיבורית ובינונית ושייר עידית לפניו אזלו כולהו גבו מעידית דאחרונה היא ובינונית הא לית ליה דמצי למימר להו גבו מבינונית דלא ניחא לי בתקנתא דרבנן
אלא מכר עידית ושייר בינונית וזיבורית לפניו מאי
סבר אביי למימר אתו כולהו גבו מעידית
אמר ליה רבא מה מכר [לו] ראשון לשני כל זכות שתבא לידו וכיון דאילו איתא לעידית גבי דידיה מצי למימר להו גבו מהבינונית דלא ניחא לי בתקנתא דרבנן לוקח שני נמי מצי למימר להו גבו מבינונית דכי זבין לי לוקח ארעא דא בכל זכות דאית ליה בגווה זבנה ניהלי
וכן הלכה:

It is obvious that if the purchaser sold the lowest grade and medium grade and the best grain remained before him, that all would collect from the best grade land, for it is the last, and the medium grade land is not present for him to be able to say to them 'collect from the medium grade land, for I do not desire the edict {/fix} of the Sages.'
But if he sold the best grade land and the medium grade and lowest grade land remained before him, what?
Abaye thought to say: All of them come and collect from the best grade land {n the hands of the purchaser}.
Rava said to him: Does not the first {purchaser} sell to the second all rights which come to his hand? And since if he was in possession of the best grade land, he is able to say to them 'collect from the medium grade land, for I do not desire the edict {/fix} of the Sages,' the second purchaser as well is able to say to them 'collect from the medium grade land, for when the purchaser sold me this land, he sold it to me with all rights connected to it.'
And so is the halacha.

אמר רבא ראובן שמכר כל שדותיו לשמעון והלך שמעון ומכר שדה אחת ללוי ובא בע"ח דראובן רצה מזה גובה רצה מזה גובה ולא אמרן אלא דזבן בינונית אבל זבן עידית וזיבורית [מצי] א"ל להכי טרחי וזבני ארעא דלא [חזיא] לך ואפי' זבן בינונית נמי לא אמרן אלא דלא שייר בינונית דכוותה גבי שמעון אבל שייר בינונית דכוותה גבי שמעון [מצי] אמר ליה הנחתי לך מקום לגבות ממנו:

Rava said: Reuven who sold all his fields to Shimon, and then Shimon went and sold one field to Levi, and then a creditor of Reuven comes -- if he wants he may collect from this one {Shimon}, and if he wants he may collect from this one {Levi}. And they only said this where he {=Levi} bought a medium grade land, but if he bought best grade land or lowest grade land, then he may say to him, 'it was for this reason that I bothered to buy land which was not fit for you. And even if he bought medium grade land as well, they also do not say this, except that he did not leave medium grade land like it. But if he left medium grade land like it by Shimon, he {=Levi} may say to him, "I have left you a place from which to collect."

אמר אביי ראובן שמכר שדה לשמעון באחריות ובא בע"ח דראובן וקא טריף לה מיניה (דינא הוא) ואזיל ראובן וקא משתעי דינא בהדיא לא מצי למימר ליה לאו בעל דברים דידי את דאמר ליה אי אפקת לה מיניה עלי דידי הדר
ואיכא דאמרי אפי' שלא באחריות נמי דאמר ליה לא ניחא לי דתהוי לשמעון תרעומת עלי:

Abaye said: Reuven who sold a field to Shimon with a warranty {in case it is collected by a creditor}, and a creditor of Reuven comes and grabs it from him {from Shimon, or at least attempts to claim it} and then Reuven wishes to go and litigate about this, he {=the creditor} cannot say "you are not a contender with me," for he {=Reuven} says to him, "if you take it from him, he ill return to mine."
And some say that even without a warranty as well, for he says to him: I do not want it to be that Shimon has complaints upon me.

ואמר אביי ראובן שמכר שדה לשמעון שלא באחריות ויצאו עליה עסיקין אם עד שלא החזיק בה יכול לחזור בו משהחזיק בה אינו יכול לחזור בו
מ"ט דאמר ליה חייתא דקיטרי סברת וקבילת
מאימתי מחזיק בה מכי דייש אמצרי
איכא דאמרי אפילו באחריות נמי

And Abaye said: Reuven who sold a field to Shimon without a warranty,
{Bava Kamma 9a}
and then claimants come upon it, if it was before he took possession of it {via chazaka}, he is able to retract. Once he took possession of it, he is not able to retract from it.
What is the reason? For he {=the seller} says to him: You agreed to and accepted a bag of knots.
When does he take possession of it? When he is dayish amitzrei. {Some explain: treads on the landmarks. But see what Rif will say in a moment.}
Some say, even with warranty as well.
