{Bava Kamma 21a}

מצידי הרחבה משלמת מה שהזיקה:
אמר רב ובמחזרת
ושמואל אמר אפילו מחזרת נמי פטורה
ושמואל היכי משכחת לה דמיחייבה כגון דשבקתה לרחבה ואזלה וקמה לה בצידי הרחבה:

"IN THE SIDEWAYS OF THE MARKET, THE PAYMENT WILL BE FOR THE ACTUAL DAMAGE {DONE BY THE ANIMAL}":
Rav said: and even where it turned {its head sideways from the center and consumed food from the side of the market}.
And Shmuel said: Even if it turned, it is also exempt.
And Shmuel, where do we find that it would be liable? Such that it left the marketplace and went off, and then came to the sides of the marketplace.

הכלב והגדי שקפצו מראש הגג ושברו את הכלים משלמין נזק שלם מפני שהן מועדין.
הכלב שנטל את החררה והלך לו לגדיש ואכל את החררה והדליק את הגדיש על החררה משלם נזק שלם ועל הגדיש משלם חצי נזק:

IF A DOG OR A GOAT JUMPS DOWN FROM THE TOP OF A ROOF AND BREAKS UTENSILS THE COMPENSATION MUST BE IN FULL, FOR ANY OF THEM IS CONSIDERED MU'AD.
IF [HOWEVER] A DOG TAKES HOLD OF A CAKE [WITH LIVE COALS STICKING TO IT] AND GOES [WITH IT] TO A BARN, CONSUMES THE CAKE AND SETS THE BARN ON FIRE, [THE OWNER OF THE DOG] PAYS FULL COMPENSATION FOR THE CAKE, WHEREAS FOR THE BARN [HE] PAYS [ONLY] HALF DAMAGES.

וכן אדם ותרנגול שדילגו בין ממעלה למטה ובין ממטה למעלה חייבין נזק שלם
אדם מועד לעולם ותרנגול אורחיה הוא

The Sages learnt {in a brayta}: If a dog or goat jumps down from the top of a roof from above to below {in a downward direction} (* and breaks vessels *) they are liable. From below to above, they are exempt from full damages and are liable in half-damages; and where it is reversed {from their normal habit}: a dog with leaping and a goat with climbing. But a dog with climbing and a goat with leaping, whether from above to below or from below to above, they are liable full damages. And so too a man and a rooster which skipped, whether from above to below or from below to above, they are liable for full damages. A man is always considered a muad and a rooster, it is his way.
